Do you enjoy sweet Goozex?

Well, do you?

You don't...? Well, you should.

I just wanted to share this site with my visitors. I think it is only open to users in North America though.

Basically it is trading site where you can swap games with other users. Goozex uses a point system for all trades and charges $1 per trade (trade credits). Most new games are around 1000 points and some older games go as low as 100 points. Basically 100 points = $5. If you trade off the games that you don't want and build up a good amount of points then you'll only ever have to spend $1 per trade and pay nothing else (well, except for shipping if you're the one making the game offer).

I've been using Goozex for a few months now with some very good results. Here's a list of games that I have gotten so far:

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (Xbox) - 100 pts
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (PSP) - 250 pts
Kameo: Elements of Power (X360) - 250 pts
Turok: Evolution (Xbox) - 100 pts hey, I was curious
Resident Evil 4 Preview Disc (GC) - 100 pts I know, I know...
Yoshi's Island DS (DS) - 300 pts
And I only had to trade off just a few newer games to get those (House of the Dead [Wii] and a few others). Still have 1400 points left as well. As you can see, I like to surf the site for older games. To me, you get the best deals with the older titles.

I usually sell my unwanted games on Half.com, but this site sometimes gives me more value per game. It is most likely a better alternative than Gamestop trades as well.

If you do join then be sure to join through the link above or the link on the right side of the page below so we'll both get an extra 100 points and 1 trade credit on your first positive trade.

Hello!

Thought I'd start checking in again. I had been sort of avoiding your blog because I didn't want to get ahead of myself in DMC 4, and then because I'm avoiding almost everything about RE 5.

Anyway, I polished off DMC 4 yesterday with a little help from your good self. As always your tips/guides are clear and concise.

I'm starting Ninja Gaiden II today (back to the X360 after months of solid PS3 play) so I've only skimmed your review.

I'm umming and ahhing over whether to continue with my blog. I just can't seem to focus at the moment so all the recent posts are very piecemeal. I think I will though. I just need to build a solid foundation again.

Wow, haven't seen you around here in a while. Good to see that you're doing well.

Yeah, I do get carried away over RE5 and don't really mind digging up everything that I can on it. I need to restrain myself a bit. :p I'm much the same way when it comes to other video games besides RE - not wanting to spoil too much for myself. I think that's why I am enjoying the latest MGS so much. With RE, I know I'll eventually spoil it sooner or later for myself, so why not just jump into the wealth of information in the trailers?

Good to see that you're sticking with your blog. Along with video game playing, it makes a nice escape from the real world to me.

Dude, wish you told me you signed up, you could have put me as the referrer. But yeah, I recently got a couple of games from them, including Tomb Raider:Anniversary (of which I'm using your Gamefaqs guide) and condemned 2, and a quick trade was dark sector.

(Haha, well if you don't mind posts anywhere I shall continue here. I tend to forget that a game as big as MGS4 came out, mostly because I don't have a PS3, so that explains your recent absorption :D )

Nish, I definitely suggest continuing your blog... it should be personal first and foremost so the "quality" of your posts is kinda immeasurable. I am very on/off with my own blog, mostly because of being really really busy but I wouldn't ever think of closing it.

And Berserker, as for Alone in the Dark, I'd say it's a mixed bag. I plan on putting up a full review hopefully this weekend or in the coming week, so if you can hang on until then I'm planning on gutting the whole thing from all sides, from design to control to story (as spoiler-free as possible of course). I'd definitely stick to MGS4 for now though, and definitely avoid the super-nasty reviews, like the ones below 5. They all complain about the controls more or less, and that's because Eden Games decided that they rather like the ol' RE1 tank days. At the same time it's a fairly complicated but short game too.

The biggest thing that I think is both bothersome and special about the game is the puzzle system. It really forces you to get a feel for their concept of "the real world", using practical ideas on how to solve things. Unfortunately for old gamers like you and me thinking like a regular person doesn't usually translate when we play games; instead, we proceed to unload 113 bullets or wall-run to safety. That adds to the frustration, along with some very nitpicky situations that made me stuck for over an hour (one of which was solved when I remembered that Edward could jump).

And I think I am definitely going to pick up Legend. Alone in the Dark isn't going to have lasting value, I can feel it, so I'm going to need something to sit on (along with some fresh ninja action) until Soul Calibur 4 rolls around :P

Now that you mention it, I actually did use your username as a referrer on Goozex when I signed up. I also used the code at Cheapassgamer that gave me 100 extra points and a trade credit after my first trade so maybe that took priority when I made my first trade. I'll give them an email about that.

I'm hoping to get Mass Effect soon. A person had it up for trade but never confirmed the trade a few days ago.

Brian

I'll be looking forward to your review. I nearly picked it up today but put it back again. ;p

I really need to get an arcade stick for the X360 anyway. I'll just settle for the gumball type I guess and try to get used to it. I'll probably be getting Soul Calibur IV for X360. The exclusive Star Wars characters don't really matter to me, or else I would choose the PS3 version. I just want to fight some human opponents with my Seung Mina/Seong Mi-na and Yunsung/Yun-Seong... whichever spelling you choose.

really, I didn't notice it. I just put diablo II and starcraft battle chests on there, see if I luck out.

Also don't go for arcade games or games that come with peripherals, they are either ripping you off or won't come with what it's supposed to.

You play those two? I'm surprised... I've never met anyone who actually considered Yun-Seo/ung a main :D

I finally got to the last chapter of AitD... and put the controller down. At this point I can honestly say that the game has some really really big highs, and many low lows. :( Hopefully the ending will wrap things up but at this point I feel like I'm playing it just to beat it more than anything else.

On the other hand, I would definitely suggest you pick up Mass Effect ASAP. It's a lot of fun, so long as you don't go in thinking it's a shooter-RPG, because it's really an RPG-shooter.

Yeah, I tend to use the most obscure characters that no one else uses. I usually pick a character based on their style and attitude regardless of how good they might be. I guess you could say that enjoy bringing out the potential of an overlooked character. :) I also use Rock.

Actually, right after I mentioned Mass Effect yesterday, I got an email telling me that it was being shipped from Goozex. The trader has two negatives on their feedback list along with a few positives. I hope this goes well...
