Leipzig RE5 trailer

Pick your poison.

IGN video version
Youtube.com version

It's really nothing new aside from a few extra clips that Capcom is teasing us with, all the rest is simply rehashed scenes from other trailers. It is interesting to actually see more of the blonde character however.

...

...fingers crossed for a demo toward the end of this year!

Also, Siren: Blood Curse guide = 80% complete. (3 more chapters + full ASCII work + 1 full proofread = FINISHED!) It'll probably be up sometimes next week.

That is all.

I agree with you, Berserker; it's a shame there are some old footage in there. Still worth watching for the new clips though. RE5 is quite possibly my most anticipated game coming out in the near future. A demo would rule, but I have a feeling we won't be getting one. :\

I noticed you have both a PS3 and 360. What system do you plan on getting it for? By the way, for those of you that don't have both of the systems, you should take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on where you can win the system of your choice. All you have to do is design a 6 Hour Power energy shot t-shirt. Check out the contest details here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview

Berserker, I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by commenting on your blog. Let me know if you have any questions or if you enter... I'll definitely vote for your design. Good luck.

Hey Franklin!

I have a feeling we won't get a demo either. The game doesn't even really need a demo to draw attention to itself, but it would be a good idea to give gamers an introduction to the feel of a co-op Resident Evil a little beforehand. If they do release one, it will probably be right before the game's release or sometimes after.

I'll be buying both versions of RE5. Even if there are no differences, I still want to own them both. I've noticed that PS3 games have better sound through my surround sound speakers. On the other hand, I think that the Xbox 360 controller will match RE5 better with its analog setup.

The contest seems pretty cool. It's much easier than I thought it would be to enter.

And no, I don't mind anyone posting on my blog, in fact, I encourage it. :) It's good to hear the opinions of others or get some discussion going in some form or another. So, thanks for posting!

Hey Berserker, glad you found the contest interesting. A lot of people would imagine it's pretty hard to design a t-shirt to enter, but it actually is surprisingly easy. This contest isn't just for a PS3 or 360, but also ten t-shirts with your own design on it, a copy of Rise of the Argonauts, a year's supply of 6 Hour Power energy shots, and more. Let me know if/when you send a design in and I'll vote for you.

Fun advertising.

Anyway, I've actually stayed away from the last few trailers (not gameplay vids, but actual trailers, like the one showcasing some of the new characters). I dunno why, it's not like I haven't spoiled myself already o_O Some part of me wants to be genuinely surprised when Claire shows up.

Yes, that's me dreaming right there :P

So you missed the fireworks show? Boom! Hahahaha! :D

I normally take that attitude with many other gaming series, but with RE, I know that I'll spoil it for myself sooner or later. If it's going to be spoiled for me then I'm going to do it myself dammit. :)

They're going to eventually show Wesker in a trailer I bet - or hint at his involvement somewhat. They won't keep him secret, just like they didn't with Ada in RE4.

I do hope that they keep some aspects from us though. It would be nice to actually see Ozwell E. Spencer for a change, but really his obscureness is probably the best aspect of his character for the moment. In a way, I don't think Capcom will ever fully reveal him - there are way too many expectations behind that character name.

Oy, man could you imagine if the guy showed up? It'd be way too big a wraparound at this point, especially when you correctly assume what kind of expectations we have :/ I still have that vague memory of Chris talking to his HQ, whose voice seemed to close to Wesker's... I doubt it's him but if it is, I would be very mad at Capcom -_- This is Resident Evil, not Your Average Anime :P

BTW how's that Siren holding up? Good to know you're almost done, it's been a while since you put out a big chunk of writing (which I apologize for helping ruin the streak :P)

I really hope that Capcom takes this oppurtunity to flesh out the RE story a lot more in RE5 when compared to the storyline of RE4. RE4 had the weakest story of them all if you ask me, even weaker than REØ's. More than anything, I don't want Capcom to turn Chris into a cliched action hero like Leon in RE4. Chris had a few one-liners in the past RE's, but nothing like Meester Kennedy. Chris has always been my favorite character in the RE series. Speaking of which, did you ever play any more of CVX?

Just got to the final episode of Siren last night, so I only have two chapters worth of gameplay left. The story takes a very interesting turn about halfway through the game. I spent a bunch of time on ASCII art yesterday. I have to get in the right mood to come up with the ASCII formatting, but once I'm in the mood, I sort of overexaggerate with it. :D In all honesty, if I wasn't getting a lot of replay value by writing for it, Siren would be a very short game. Everything is pointed out to you if you read the objectives carefully - they're labeled on a map and the wording is more descriptive than each of them should be - so there is little guess work to be done.

Nah, you haven't ruined anything. There haven't really been any games out this summer that I can stick with long enough to write anything for. With Siren, I'm writing everything on my first time through, so there's some slight reward for turning on the comp each time to write for it instead of simply backtracking through the game.

No, unfortunately I haven't had the time to touch it. Still got the Olympics going on (I really do watch all four hours of primetime when I can, and watch it when I get home), so I get about 2 hours during the week to play games -- at this point, that's spent experimenting and practicing SC4 :P Fighting games are my "when I have less than an hour to play" thing, because when I play something else I like having a good chunk of time to play. So no, no CVX.

My list is now CVX, BC:R, and NG2 Mission Mode on the top, though I have a desire to finally finish playing through all the Wartech: Senko no Ronde stories. I am REALLY going to be squeezed for time though next week because Tales of Vesperia comes out, so me and my sister will be spending all our nights playing that every day until we beat it, hehe. My hope is to mess around with the Force Unleashed demo a bit late late tonight, some SC4 before/after dinner, tomorrow will be my SC4 meetup, and then Saturday I'm busy, Sunday will be my chance to blaze through BCR in one sitting, if that's even possible :P Yeah, it sucks when you have to plan out your playing time :/ Makes me feel like I'm 13 again and my parents enforced the one-hour rule, haha.

Fighting games are sometimes my little short burst of gaming also. Of course, as you saw a few nights ago, I sometimes get too deeply involved. It's hard to put down a fighting game when you have some good competition.

Even in a simple training mode, I can let the time get away from me. I wouldn't advise playing too much of Rearmed at one time. The stages can get really frustrating toward the end with the many spike pits and pitfalls. I still have four stages left and I kind of dread going through them, since I know that I'll wind up getting mad at them. Haha. It's fun to get angry regardless of that though. Someitmes, games that frustrate me really bady are the ones that I turn out liking a good bit - Chaos Legion.
