Poll Results - formatted FAQs vs text FAQs

Here are the final results for the poll that I put up (and nearly forgot about):

Should I try to write up formatted (HTML) FAQs on GameFAQs?

Yes, I prefer formatted FAQs compared to text FAQs.
10 (47%)

Yes, but do both text and formatted with all your guides.
3 (14%)

No, I only like text FAQs.
8 (38%)

That's good to see that more people favor HTML guides, since that is most likely what you'll be seeing from me from now on. I'll try to make a text version of many of the popular guides that I do, but HTML will always come first.

For those that don't know yet, since the time I made this poll, I've actually gotten a writing position at Neoseeker.com! I've basically finished a Batman: Arkham Origins guide for them and I'm working on Dead Rising 3 right now. I'll work on others for them in the future. I'll try to keep people informed on what I do for Neoseeker with some post about it as I work on them. I'll make up a post for the Dead Rising 3 guide in a few more days. It's still in the VERY early stages at the moment.

I have to admit, the Dead Rising 3 guide got in the way of the Arkham Origins guide and I couldn't finish up the Origins guide the way that I wanted to. I didn't get a chance to list out all the Enigma extortion files like I planned to - I'll try to get that done eventually. Dead Rising 3 takes priority though!

Dead Rising Guide Compilation

Several years back, I wrote a guide for the original Dead Rising and allowed Cheat Happens to host it with added html and pics. I've had a talk with them and plan to release many of the guides I wrote for them as text guides on all the gaming sites. Sure, they are very old, but I spent a BUNCH of time on these guides and would like for them to at least be listed on my GameFAQs account.

The first game up is Dead Rising. This text version of this guide contains EVERYTHING that I have done for Dead Rising except for the script guide already listed on their site. I went just as overboard with Dead Rising 2, so now I have a matching pair! Haha. It's a great feeling to finally have my original Dead Rising guide up on GameFAQs. I'll be adding Lost Planet and God Hand guides on there eventually.

For those wondering if I'll be doing anything for Dead Rising 3, no, I won't. I don't plan on getting an Xbox One or a Playstation 4, for that matter, anytime soon. If I ever do get the chance to write one... I might. Honestly, ever since Dead Rising 2: Case West released, I've literally had my feel of Dead Rising overall. I didn't even bother with Dead Rising: Off the Record from the feeling of being so burnt out by Case West, so really I don't know if Dead Rising 3 would really mean as much to me.

As for those wondering about my next projects, I plan to write for Flashback and I'm currently still adding more to my Injustice guide. I might do something for Batman: Arkham Origins later this year also. If I do something for Batman, it will be EXTENSIVE since I love the Arkham games so much.

Dead Rising 2 Guide

Chuck Greene is the man! Thanks to him and his fantastic game, I am now back into FAQ writing once again and I am absolutely having a blast with it.

Thank you, Chuck.

And I did a little something for Case Zero also:

Case West will be released sometimes down the line and I'll be sure to do something for that also!

By now, I definitely know my way around a zombie or two.

Moving on from Resident Evil 5.

Just a few weeks ago, I was playing Resident Evil 5 like I have been in my free time for the past... year... and decided to take a small break from the game and play some others for a while. I watched a preview of another game and it reminded me just how much I've been addicted to RE5 over the year and have completely forgotten about other good games out there.

It's been quite a while since I've even written a guide seriously. The last guide that I actually worked really hard on was Resident Evil 5. I planned for that to be my last, but... you know the way that works. You never quit something that you love so much. It just doesn't work that way. :)

It's really time to move on from Resident Evil 5 and get to more important stuff out there though.

Stuff like...

Hitting zombies over the head with a chair...

Beating zombies over head with a sledgehammer and crushing their skulls into the ground...

Taking on the role of Chuck Green to cover the zombie outbreak in Sin City!

Chuck doesn't cover wars. He makes his own wars!

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero will be released on August 31, 2010 and the full game is scheduled for release on September 29, 2010. If you'll be picking up Dead Rising 2 and need help from GameFAQs, I'll see you there. ;)

Disclaimer: I never will quit playing Resident Evil 5 entirely any time soon, but I will take frequent breaks from the game and get to other games. It's FAR past time to move on from it.

Dead Rising CtyD Interview

The Bionic Commando Top Secret File podcast that I mentioned in my previous Dead Rising post was done yesterday and it has a most interesting interview with producer/director for Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop, Minoru Nakai in it.

Top Secret File 031 podcast (w/Dead Rising interview)

The actual interview begins 15 minutes and 35 seconds into the podcast. The full interview is a little over 25 minutes. Here's my personal favorite highlights:

25:30 - Differences (this part is fantastic! A list of additions is actually read through)
36:40 - New weapons, extras
It really sounds so much more interesting than what I had envisioned. Instead of a watered down port with Wii controls, it sounds like a complete remake of what we knew from Dead Rising on X360. Knowing so little about the game based on the shallow previews that I've read thus far, it was really good to get some in-depth information this time.

Also, for the some Resident Evil 5 related news, the Europe PS3 demo for Resident Evil 5 is supposed to be up on the PlayStation Store on February 2nd according to Eurogamer. This probably means that the US will get it on the same day as well, approximately one week after the NA Xbox 360 demo release.

Update: US PS3 RE5 demo confirmed for February 2nd on the North American PSN. Official word from Sony - bottom paragraph.

Dead Rising CTYD Extras and Questions

Dead Rising News

Just recently Famitsu released pics of some of the new outfits for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (the other outfit is in the full scan). I have to sometimes wonder what goes through the creators' mind with some of these outfits - it's all hilarious to me though. Hopefully some more Capcom characters will follow.

There is another pic of the Nathan Spencer outfit over at the Capcom Blog.

Also, over the Capcom boards, you can submit some questions which might have the chance of being answered by Producer/Director of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, Minoru Nakai. Users with the chosen questions receive some free Dead Rising Capcom releated items. The thread can be found right here for anyone that is interested. The deadline for submitting questions is Wednesday.

Resident Evil 5 News

Recently, the Japanese Biohazard site has been updated with a new look showcasing a BSAA database server, and there is now a Kijuju blog up on Blogger which is updated by Adam, who seems to be making a living in Kijuju. He also details his meetings with the "mysterious blonde woman". Capcom appears to be having a lot of fun in the comments section of the most recent post. :D

The RE5 Theatrical Trailer that is on the RE: Degeneration DVD and Blu-ray is up on Gametrailers and some new pics of the leech-like enemy are available right here.

If you haven't taken a look at the Kijuju site yet, then show me some support and visit the They Are in Kijuju site. I know. I know. I'm sorry... but really, come on and humor me with your left mouse button if you haven't clicked it yet. :D
